From the Calpline Corporation, Mr. John Traller disscused about the "GEOTHERMAL ENERGY" - what does it mean?
Geotheramal Energy is an energy/electrcity coming from the the "NATURAL STEAMS" of the earth. It is like a "HOT SPRING", but is hotter and produces more heat than hot springs. These steams are found near "VOLCANOES". From the lava down the earth, it boils the water from the PERMAEBLE LAYER of the earths crust and making it CONDENSED.
As the disscusion goes further, he revealed that they are converting these steams into usable electricity. At the Geysers, they first make about 350 watts, empowering an entire resort. Now, they have plants on the United States where they give power not only to a resort or a village, but to cities!
He also revealed the advantages of a Geothermal Powerplants. First, it does not harm the earth since they only use steams, and also these steams are recyclacle. Secondly, the supply will not be affected by any pheonomenas such as El Nino unlike those of Hydroelectric Powerplant. Lastly, it cost lesser.
As it ended, he let the students ask further questions, and he also answered it with satisfiying answers. He also gave a souveneir saying that he will come back to our school!
