The Day of the Dead

In every November 1st and 2nd of the year, around the world, all souls day and all saint's day is celebrated. This is celebrated to remember those people who already passed away, and to those souls who are not yet in peace.

Only in Phillipines, this event is celebrated uniquely, as a part of Christian culture. In the day of the dead, cemeteries are converted into camping sites and picnick grounds. Filipinos celebrate this, like a festival. National "Day of the Dead" Festival. This is uniquely, and only in Philippines.

During before the day comes, people from the city goes to their hometown, to take a vacation and celebrate the festival. The people in the provinces, usually starts to preapare the food and drinks, they will bring to the mausoleom of their loved one's. These food includes the Philippine's famous: Suman, Bico, Bibinka, and Puro. There are also various foreign dishes, but cooked, in a pinoy way! :D

Filipinos are considered to be the most happiest people around the world. These events, proves that it is true. Not only, because of the emotional flashbacks people get on visiting the cemetery, but also, even in financial crisis, they still make their way to celebrate these kind of events. As i always heard from the elders, "It's only celebrated once a year", and as for me, that makes sense.
