A visit of Sparks on Philippines

The famous internationally-bestselling American novelist and screenwriter, Nicholas Sparks is on Philippines in the for his new novel "The Best of Me". One of my favorite author since, Stephen King and John Grisham, Nicholas Sparks is famous for his works such as, Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, and so much more! For his 17th novel, is the "Best of Me".

Some of his famous works are adapted in film such as "The Notebook" which gain positive reviews from critics. "The Notebook" is his third novel because the first two were not published. In an interview in the show "The Bottom line" with the Philippine's finest "critic", Boy Abunda, Sparks gain a "LOT" of tough questions and also at the same time, complements.

He reveals that, unlike other author, he starts the novel with a concrete ending, saying that an he must know what the ending is, or else he cannot write a novel. Also, he reveals, that the closest novel to his heart is the " A Walk to Remember" because it is dedicated to his passed sister, which also, like the protagonist, suffer from cancer, and an addition he also says that, he was a bit confused if he would change the ending of the film, he wanted to, but the facts doesn't go the way he wanted to, quoting "At the ending, Landon says "I saw miracle", and i cannot change facts, that Jamie was dying."

Abunda also asked a couple of personal questions such as: If what was Sparks sexual type? - and he answered he was a "silent type".; Does he also suffer writer's block? - and he answered,  EVERYDAY! ; Is novel writing a profitable one? - he answered, yes.

But my personal favorite part of the interview is when he said that: Romance Novel and a Love Story comes from different genres. Unlike the "happy ending" type of romance novels, love stories also involves pain, anger   hatred, regrets, and all of the emotions we all have and it usually ends tragically, because he thinks love is also a tragedy. Saying, he is not a Romance Novelist, Rather a some sort of Shakespeare writer ( Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare also end tragically.)
